Module 04 hurt. We had a second brand that existed mainly on LinkedIn. Closing it freed a sales lead we had been about to replace. I still think the Constraint map week ran long for a company our size.
Flagship program
Growth Architecture Intensive
Twelve weeks with a senior Apppathgrid advisor and your executive circle. The artefact is a mandate your board can minute, not a wall of sticky notes.
What you leave holding
- A written growth thesis of no more than eight pages, including the markets you will ignore.
- A capital and capacity note that ties hiring and plant to the thesis, not to last year’s optimism.
- A ninety-day calendar with owners, not a list of “workstreams”.
- A recorded challenge session so absentees hear the disagreement, not a sanitised summary.
Modules
Corridor truth
We interview operators who never attend the offsite. The first draft of the mandate must survive their version of the year.
Constraint map
Credit, licences, plant, and key-person risk plotted against the ambition. If a constraint cannot move, the ambition does.
Market gravity
Buyer concentration, competitor patience, and the cost of a second geography — written as numbers, not adjectives.
Stop-doing ledger
Every growth plan hides a graveyard of pet projects. We name them and assign a date they lose funding.
Board minute
The thesis is rewritten so a non-executive can ask one sharp question. Theatre is edited out in the room.
Ninety-day bind
Owners, cadence, and the first public commitment. After this week, Apppathgrid is a critic, not a ghostwriter.
Principal
Rowan Hale
Rowan led corporate development inside two Australian industrials before founding Apppathgrid. The Intensive is the format used with retained clients, compressed so a team can learn the method without a twelve-month contract.
Informational fee
The Intensive is listed at A$18,400 for a team of up to six. Travel to Berrico or a Sydney meeting room is quoted separately. This is not a checkout. Write to us if the format fits; we confirm dates by letter.
Request datesQuestions we actually get
Can we send only the founder?
You can, and it usually fails. The Intensive needs at least one person who owns operations and one who owns the numbers. A founder attending alone often produces a beautiful document nobody will run.
Is this a substitute for a full retainer?
No. Several firms treat the Intensive as a filter before Stewardship Circle. Others never need us again, which we consider a decent outcome.
What is a real limitation of this format?
Twelve weeks cannot repair a broken ownership fight. If two shareholders want opposite businesses, we will say so in week two and stop. We do not mediate family disputes, and we will not pretend a mandate can outrun a deadlock.
Notes from recent rooms
4 / 5 on the internal pack
The recorded challenge session was the piece our absent CFO actually used. The written thesis was shorter than we expected, which our chair liked.
